What we collect, why, and how to delete it.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy describes how Protein Outfitters LLC (“we,” “us,” “Operator”), operating Protein Outfitters, collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website, mobile app, and related services (the “Service”).

2. What we collect

• Account info — email, name (optional), role (buyer / producer / processor / institution), and any address you save for pickup.
• Authentication — you sign in with a magic link sent to your email and/or Sign in with Apple. We do not store passwords.
• Reservation data — which animals you reserve, the share size, drop-off and pickup details, and cut-sheet selections.
• Payment data — handled by Stripe. We see payment status and limited card details such as the last four digits. We never store full primary account numbers (PAN). During launch, card payments are processed through the Stripe merchant account of Stittsworth Meats, an affiliated business.
• Producer / processor profile data — farm or plant name, location, certifications, schedule, capabilities, and the public bio you write.
• Device and usage logs — standard server logs (IP, user agent, timestamp) for security, reliability, and abuse prevention.
• Maps and search — Google Maps and Gemini power geocoding and search on the Service.

We do not run third-party advertising trackers.

3. Why we collect it

• To operate the marketplace — matching buyers with producers and processors, settling payments when checkout is enabled, and sending transactional messages about reservations and pickup.
• To keep USDA, state, and equal-to inspection recordkeeping that ties processed meat to a named animal and producer.
• To keep the Service reliable.
• To prevent fraud and abuse.
• To comply with law.

4. Who can see your data

• You — information we have on you is visible from your account or available on request.
• The producer and processor on that reservation — they see what they need for that reservation (such as name, email, share size, cut-sheet selections, and pickup details).
• Service providers — Stripe (payments), Resend (transactional email), Supabase (database and auth), Vercel (hosting), Google Maps and Gemini (maps and search), and Apple (Sign in with Apple). Each receives only what they need to do their job.
• Government when required, including inspection or other legal process.
• We do not sell or rent your data to advertisers, marketers, or data brokers.

5. Cookies and localStorage

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. We use localStorage for preferences such as saved searches, pinned filters, and a referral code if someone shared one with you. We do not use advertising cookies. We do not run third-party advertising trackers.

6. Public profiles

Producer and processor profile pages are public. Farm or plant name, location, certifications, listings, gallery, and reviews may appear in search results. Buyer profiles are not public.

7. Retention and deletion

You can delete your account in-app with Delete my account, or email hello@proteinoutfitters.com. We keep tax and regulatory records for the period the law requires — typically up to 7 years.

8. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. You must be of legal age to reserve; see the Terms of Service.

9. Your choices

• Update account information from your account settings.
• Access, correct, or delete your information from the app (including Delete my account) or by emailing hello@proteinoutfitters.com.
• Marketing opt-out — you can opt out of marketing email. We still send transactional messages about your account and reservations.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be emailed to active accounts and/or posted on this page.
